Valitettavasti, epävarmasta koronatilanteesta johtuen, Sommelo joutuu perumaan kesälle 2021 suunnittelut kurssit. 

Kesälle 2021 suunniteltu Afrikka teema siirtyy vuodelle 2022.

Unfortunately, due uncertain coronavirus situation, courses planned for summer 2021 have been cancelled. 

Africa theme will be moved from 2021 to 2022.

Sommelon kulttuurimatka 2021... / Sommelo culture trip 2021...

 

Kesällä 2021 Sommelon kulttuurimatka toteutetaan Suomen puoleisessa Vienan Karjalassa. Suomen puolella rajaa, Kainuun alueella, sijaitsee kolme vienalaista kylää, Rimmin kylä Kuhmossa sekä Kuivajärvi ja Hietajärvi Suomussalmella.

Kulttuurimatkaan sisältyy käynti Rimmin kultalähteellä. Jo 1789 ilmestyneessä Christfrid Genanderin "Mythologia Fennica" -teoksessa on maininta "Kulda Kaiwosta", josta lähtevät vedet sekä Pohjanlahteen että Vienanmereen. Lähteen pohjalla on useita vedenalaisia suihkulähteitä, jotka liikuttavat pohjahiekkaa. 

 

Kulttuurimatkan matkaohjelma

Matkan hinta (sisältää käynnin Kultalähteellä, opastukset, konsertit, kahvin ja ruokailun) on 115 euroa/hlö.

In the summer of 2021 the Sommelo cultural tour will head to the Viena Karelian villages located at the Finlands side of the border. There is three Viena Karelian villages located at the region of Kainuu, these are Rimmi in Kuhmo and Kuivajärvi and Hietajärvi in Suomussalmi.

During the cultural tour partisipants have an opportunity to visit gold spring in the village of Rimmi. Gold spring is metioned in Christfrid Genanders book Mythologia Fennica (1789) in which the waters of the spring flow into both the Gulf of Finland and the White Sea.

Summer 2021 Sommelo festival will take place between Thursday July 1st - Sunday July 4th, 2021. Sommelo is celebrating its 15th anniversary and themes of 2021 are runesong and kantele, accordion and Russia. Africa theme originally schdeduled to 2021 has been moved to 2022.

Due corona situation the plan is to have artist who live in Finland to perform at the festival and artist who live outside of Finland to perform via live stream.
